Previously owned by Mario Langston of the renowned VSR1 in N.H.

Mario purchased the car around 1995 and it was his daily driver for quite some time. Racking up approx 90k miles. In 2008 he had an accident and the car was rendered A COMPLETE LOSS. Not difficult to do with 2008 values hovering around $10,000.

The car had approx 165k miles at the time of said incident. If a complete loss in 2008 bothers you, please stop reading and don't comment on the for sale thread.

Shortly after the incident, Mario decided to buy the car back from the insurance company and restore his beloved E30 M3.

Mario embarked on a multi year no expense spared restoration and in 2014 ish his vision was complete.

At the time of the restoration the engine was built to 2.5 specs. Savage was driven approx 22k miles until in early 2019 Mario decided to part ways after 14 ish years of ownership. He called me and I happily took ownership after discussing the car for 1 minute.

In March of 2019 upon receiving the car in stock looking form, I decided to embark on a vision Iv'e had had for many years and the modifications begun. After many a trial and error on E30 M3's in the past, I knew exactly the route I wanted to take to build MY perfect spec E30 M3.

My signature wheels would be the base of the car's appearance. There are 4 sets of these wheels in the USA and I've imported all of them. Sadly I sold a set to my good friend but still own the other 3. The wheels cost me $6000 and frankly they are worth every penny. No other wheel looks as good on white and I've tried them ALL.

Next I sourced OE red sport evo bumper tape.

Moving to the interior I sourced a very rare (horn wire behind the spoke) Formel steering wheel and had it retrimmed. The semi soft grip along with the motorsport stitching provides a wonderful view from the drivers seat.

Speaking of the seats, they are custom sourced from Japan and taken to the next level. Kevin Chinn trimmed them and I personally redid the interior evo fabric along with the door panel stitching. Most door panels are done in convertible fashion but I knew that wasn't the direction I wanted to go. This is as close to Real Sport EVO I could get without buying paying $8000 for a set of front and rear Evo door panels. Have a look at the pics of my work and you will likely agree.

Completing the interior are Sport Evo seat belts sourced in 2019 which as most of you know is not easy. But a car of this stature deserves the very best.

Moving into the engine bay the valve cover and airbox have been redone to my personal custom specs and Alpha N was added.

So why am I looking to part with such a beautiful car? A couple reasons.

One word, PORSCHE and different collection goals.

2nd, I have a fire orange S54 build that's almost complete. While I love a good S14, especially a Mario built 2.5 evo spec, the S54 is the ultimate engine for the E30 M3 chassis for my vision of what a fun street car should be. Again, my opinion.

Anyway, Times change, long live BMW and BMW Motorsports but I will only own 1, E30 M3 moving forward. That will be my Orange S54 build soon to be completed.

I'm also considering selling the LTW, a one of a kind PTG build that will never be replicated. I also consider the LTW one of the best in the country. Considering offers over $225,000 for the LTW.

I've recently sold 3 E30 M3's here on the forum and each car has found a wonderful home. Let's find Savage a worthy owner.

I personally took the pictures of Savage 11 5 22 and I'm not a professional. The pics were not altered except for size. The pics represent the current condition of the car very well IMO.

Savage was recently at SIGFEST 2022 and many on the forum have seen the car. Feel free to chime in about your thoughts of Savage.

This is correct. Gutted.

I took the car back up to Mario for this mod last year.

Gained quite a bit of mid range torque as one would expect but not as much upper end HP also as one would expect.

I don't think there are many modded like this at the moment. Maybe a couple. It's for those that want the factory look but with some tuning capabilities / wideband tracking etc.

This car also has Sport Evo throttle bodies. I have the CF airbox I might paint white add some motorsport stripes and install.

That sound is just TOO GOOD!

I did the same thing on my S14 MTech cab,,, and I'm forever on the lookout for a messed up CF airbox to paint white and put on it LOL.

The comments on the salvaged title will likely overshadow the correctly done 2.5L.

I have a unicorn for sure. A beautifuly built / mechanicaly sound, modified to my taste, complete loss carfax car.

Title is clean actually for what that's worth.

In the end they wanted to no reserve the car. I went back and forth and still might do it. I'm traveling extensively over the next 4 months and don't have time to baby sit an auction. Maybe in the spring when I'm back, I'll revisit a no reserve auction.

Besides E30 M3 market is down for modified cars. The low mile, all original cars will always soar....but then you can't drive them can you.

There in lies the catch 22. Do you buy an E30 M3 for investment or to drive and expereince them how BMW intended back in 1988?

I will always choose the later. Obviously I don't care about what others think about my cars values.

But in the end, it's me you want to buy a car from. There was a song written about that. Isn't it ironic

In the end the BAT world isn’t ready for a $100,000 rebuilt e30 m3. And I’m not in the mood to defend my car either. Some people will either, never understand or won’t be able to get past certain things. A complete loss carfax is one of them

Its your car sell it for what you want how you want, or if t doesn't sell keep it.

I'm a closet lover of old Merican muscle, love 1st gen Z28s. The comments section on any 1st Gen Z28 auction turn into horror shows of "experts" basically screwing up every sellers auction.

I wouldn't write off BaT so early and I'll post how my experience went. My car was accepted, and they also accepted my reserve without negotiation (let's say it was between $84k and $86k). I used their services to line up a photographer and pictures have been taken. Waiting for BaT to edit the pictures and get with me to review them as well as review the ad copy.

I know there are people out there who have had not so good experiences on BaT and others who have had great experiences. I think a lot has to do with how they set their own expectations.

I am giving BaT a shot because quite frankly the market for low mileage (rather expensive) E30 M3s is small, and in my local area virtually non-existent. I would not go to eBay with my car, even though I bought a great NSX on eBay. Craigslist is also a no-go IMO. So where does one go to get broad exposure with minimal effort? Cars and Bids perhaps? BaT is the Internet auction gold standard at the present time. Even Keith Martin's Sports Car Market magazine follows BaT's auction results.

Good luck however you proceed. There is a buyer out there. It will just take time to find that special person for a special car.

EDIT: I just reviewed your pictures and I am rather surprised BaT wanted to go with a no reserve auction. While not and apples-to-apples comparison, I think your car would perform as well as this example that sold for $115k in April. This car was heavily modified with high mileage, yet someone really wanted it. I like your car better as it has more originality and channels the DTM theme with those great wheels.

Yeah those wheels are $6k ! lol. One thing for sure, I go all out on my mods / cars. Hurts on the selling back end but the buyer usually ends up happy!

And yes I sent the pics to BAT. I took those pics also. Far from professional. Man I love this car but it's time to move on.

One final comment, I'd argue with BaT about the no reserve and point out the example I cited above. Even with your salvage title the car benefits from the interior, wheels, engine, etc. I am assuming if it was put on an alignment rack the chassis would be straight and true. I'd also make a point to make sure BaT understands the work that went into the engine. Keeping an S14 in an E30 M3 is way more valuable (IMO) than an S54, even if it was installed by Castro Motorsports (highly regarded in E30 circles BTW).

Since your car is literally a one-off, it may take some education on your part to get the BaT people aligned with the outcome you are looking for.
