Even with your salvage title the car benefits from the interior, wheels, engine, etc. I am assuming if it was put on an alignment rack the chassis would be straight and true. I'd also make a point to make sure BaT understands the work that went into the engine. Keeping an S14 in an E30 M3 is way more valuable (IMO) than an S54, even if it was installed by Castro Motorsports (highly regarded in E30 circles BTW).

Since your car is literally a one-off, it may take some education on your part to get the BaT people aligned with the outcome you are looking for.

The only "alignment" BaT cares about is selling the car and getting their commission. BTDT. The throughput there is so high right now hard to get any car at a reserve listed let alone find a qualified/knowledgible person on their end to assist.

      What can I say,
      I love wide fenders!

Well . . . yes - BaT is a business and like most businesses their goal is to make money - ergo sell as many cars as possible. Nothing wrong with this. Regarding qualified/knowledgeable persons - you can't (or perhaps shouldn't) expect their action specialists to be experts in every make, model and year. That's unreasonable. My feeling is, if you have a special car that is outside the standard build, you need to work with the auction specialist to emphasize the car's uniqueness. It's the informed buyers out there who will recognize what the car is all about and if the right buyer is in the "room" and wants the car, it will sell.

The auction specialist is there to create the copy based on what you submit. The better your submission, the better your ad will be. It is all on you. If your ad sucks it is your fault. The auction specialist is not making creative content - you are.

I had no problem listing my car and BaT took my reserve without hesitation. I had interaction with three auction specialists and all were attentive and extremely responsive to my questions and inquiries. I have no complaints with their staff.

The one thing you will need to have if you list your car on BaT is a thick skin. You will (as did I) get total fools commenting on your auction pointing out issues that are non-issues, people criticizing areas of your car that are completely irrelevant. You just need to shake these off, respond in a positive manner and mentally flip the assholes off.

I realize everyone's experience with BaT will be different, but at the end of the day the success of your auction is directly related to how much up-front effort your put into it and then how well you interact once the auction goes live.

Thanks - even after auction ended some fool with the screen name rmwcali had to get the last disparaging shot in. I mean honestly - who does that? What a dick.

Thanks man. Appreciate ya. Not leaving everything yet but definately pairing down. I'm sure I'll always have one in the collection as long as the collection includes 5 or more cars. I'm not sure it could crack a top 5 with the s14 engine. Let's see what the orange car with the S54 power will do for me.
