The import process itself isn’t too difficult, especially in a case like this where the car is older than 25 years.
You will pay 2.5% of the purchase price in tax to import it into the US.
Shipping price depends on if you use RORO (roll on, roll off) or a container. I’ve used both in the past for different levels of cars…for a car this nice I would recommend container. Depending on the port you’re importing to and from (I’ve always imported to CA ports from UK & Germany), you’re looking at between $1500-$4500 or so for shipping.
Plus a bit for insurance, import docs, EPA/DOT docs, etc…give or take $2-3k for all those.
Plan on a couple hours for all the forms, a few thousand $ out of your pocket for the above costs, and hopefully a knowledgeable DMV agent at your local branch when you go to title and register it.

If you don't want to do the paper work, you can contact someone such as JK Technologies in Baltimore, MD or Wallace Labs in Houston, TX. They are very familiar with the process. There will be a cost for their services. I used JK Technologies when I imported my E30 M3 Cabrio, but that was in '03.
