I'm in Milpitas. I talked to the guy. My only hesitation is that the whole maintenence record thing...I guess a rebuild can solve that, but you end up spending $$$$

      FYI Steve-

That one has a BLOWN HEAD GASKET. Ask me how I know(1 sight unseen 100 dollar pre-purchase inspection later)

Pretty bummed too...he would have taken 12.5k before konwing the h.g. was bad. Now, he won't go below that despite telling me that the price will certainly be adjusted based on what the pre-purchase inspection shows. I thought I found my M3 and was scheduled to pick it up tomorrow...oh well...f*ck it.

I went to check this car out yesterday, and I took it to my mechanic as well. The car is in great shape physically. The head gasket is not blown, just leaking. I have seen that on many M3's in the past. It is a cause for concern, but I am in negotiations with the sellers to have the head gasket replaced. Other than that, it needs a new thermostat, which the seller already has. The leather seats are in gorgeous condition, not all hard and cracked like many m3's I have seen. I have a set of original rims and I might switch them out, and I dont like the alpina steering wheel, I much rather put in my mtech 2 wheel instead.

Thanks for all the precautions guys. I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure.

          Wish me luck

Hehe, blown, leaking...same difference to me, still needs replacement and soon.

Car is definately clean, and if you have the bank account for it, by all means it's a good deal. Good luck my man.

In any case, any more California E30's for sale?

A dude in Lafayette emailed me. His car wasn't advertised for sale. Hasn't really been driven for the last 7 years due to a faulty heater core and valve(center console is out as we speak). Just been sitting in his driveway. White on Tan, 98k miles, 10k on a mild mild 2.5(maybe 220 crank?...stock cams), exterior probably an 8 out of 10, interior probably a 6...those numbers will go up with some cleaning and time spent. Spent 11k.

Anyways, I'm way way excited. The thing hauls some ass too...but I'm not driving it until I get some maintenence done(7 year old fluids and leaky heater valve = big no no to drive). I look forward to posting on s14!

Well, if you guys are interested, I know of a guy who's on the fence about selling. He's a bit slow about email and you'll probably have to lean on him a little bit, but I think he ultimately wants the car gone...he did respond to my want ad explaining that he wasn't sure if he wanted to sell.

white on black, 130k, glass moonroof, got some other goodies but overall pretty stock. Said the body is an 8 out of 10 and the interior is a 7. He was asking 10.5k.

                                Shift,

If you could give him my email, I would appreciate it. I've been in the market for a while now, but really haven't taken the initiative to go out and really look. I think since work is slowing down a bit, I can begin to really look. e46kid at yahoo dot com. Thanks in advance!
