  • 1988 Alpine 2.5L 146K miles - Ohio

Owned for a couple of years... have had plenty of fun and had planned to keep for some time..... situation has changed and now looking to sell / buy another home and need to clear some debt. Here are details:

Alpine with cardinal interior. 146,xxx miles
Very stock. In fact the only mods (other than engine below) I have is an Alpine head unit w/ Polk audio front speakers and momo pedals (and wheels see below)
This car has a very clean chassis with a professional re-spray in the original color a few years ago. Looks very good but there is a 12" scratch on the pass rear.

Clear title / mileage and Carfax - including all original panels and deck lid. Very good condition interior with a crack free dash. Drivers seat has been replaced with another good condition (passenger) M3 seat. Wheels - style 42 BBS 17" two piece with new Kumho MX tires. The wheels are in very good condition and includes a 5th extra wheel. All wheels are straight and balance fine. I have the original wheels in good condition that may be put back on the car (buyer to purchase their own tires) and will reduce the price by 600.00 - if preferred (I would keep the style 42 wheels for later re-sale) I prefer to keep one set of the wheels.

Alpine in dash CD player in good order with Polk Audio front speakers and stock rears - sounds great! Pre-wired for a subwoofer.

The engine is where I loose my blood, sweat and tears and money!!

This is the typical 2.5L bottom end with a few other upgrades as follows:

All work was done apprx. 2000 miles ago.

original BMW 2.5L evo III crank
    original rods
    Wiseco 11:1 compression pistons
swaintech coated rod bearings and piston / side skirts
all new timing rails and chains
    Evo III oil pump
    Evo III flywheel
    Stock sachs clutch
trans is from a 90K mile car in good order w/complete reseal
Evo 264 intake cam - stock 246 exhaust cam
head is stock with the intake side ported to match larger throttles - price does NOT inlclude larger throttles.
    EVO air flow meter
    EVO lower air box
    Turner 2.5 chip
    Turner intake gasket set
    Turner exhaust stud kit
All new rad hoses and fuel line
new clutch master and slave cylinders
I am sure there are some things I am forgetting. The car showed just over 180 rwhp and 164 torque on a Dynojet - pulls very well but could probably use a custom chip. Should respond very well to more intake upgrades or cams.

    Other items of note:
Installed a Z3 1.9 shift lever for shorter throw 3/08
Installed an autometer oil pressure gauge (and off brand voltmeter) last summer
    new fuel pump 10/07
    new spark plugs
    Oil pan baffle 10/07
Both rear wheel bearings replaced 11/07
Front and rear brakes are like new
    Redline trans fluid
New A/C condenser and dryer - R134 conversion and blows very cold
keyless entry installed - drivers door tumbler does not work well

Work done by previous owner at apprx 140K miles:

    Momo pedal set
both front control arms and bushings 4/2007
    valve cover gaskets
    tie rods and alignment 4/2007
    valve adjustment 4/2007
new alternator and alternator mounts 4/2007
    flush trans and diff fluids

trunk bottom carpet was missing when I got the car. I purchased a non skid mat to cover the bottom.

I have owned 20 BMW's over that last 10 years - This is a car that will get you plenty of compliments. I have had a change in my circumstance that has me offering for sale - otherwise this one is a keeper!

Priced at 16,900.00 - considering the build, thats like getting the car for less than 10 grand !

p.m. for more pics - serious only please
