This looks familiar. Notice the gold sprayed rim in the trunk. I think this is that really bad M3 that was for sale awhile back on ebay that had gold trim and a pretty shady history. Anyone have info? I don't know if "unmolested" was appropriate for them to put in the ebay heading.

I don't think that gruesome looking red M3 with all the tacky gold trim that popped up a couple times FS was a Zinno...it was a Henna as I recall....but, regardless, this car certainly "looks" like a low mileage clean example. I'm in Southeastern PA...if I was closer, I'd like to take a close-up look at this one. I personally don't care for those wheels, but those look to be "original" tires on there...surely not, but when's the last Pirelli P700 Z's been available for sale "anywhere"! :-)

I'll bet the reserve is at least 20-25 K.

I'm almost positive this is that same car. Same rims, title issues and claimed mileage. That leftover gold rim in the trunk is a dead giveaway. Looks like it's been repainted as well.

John...Same here. But Borbets can be re-sold. The younger E30 ricer crowd loves those wheels for their conversion. They can be sold at top price on the market.....well, here in SoCal. My son's got a set with tires but biding his time to sell for a better market.

Major title issue found. Odometer related. Bad news.

You could be right.....but at least it "looks better" in it's present state if it is. Looks can indeed be deceiving however as we all know.

The Momos are one of my favorite wheels on these cars. So period correct!

This is the same car that was for sale a while back. As far as the mileage goes, I'm 99% sure it's the correct mileage. The car has been sitting in the pittsburgh area for YEARS though, and not inside as the listing says. The "the car cover got wet and ruined the paint" story sounds like a bunch of bs to me and makes me wonder about the seller of the car. It sat outside sun, rain, and snow for I think at least 3 years. I'm guessing this car is going to need a good bit of work still to be really right. It was at the one BMW dealership for over a year and then it vanished and then showed up again at a gas station about 20 miles away. I'm guessing the current owner got the car running, painted it and cleaned up the outside/inside, and is now trying to flip it. But from the listing it sounds like he didn't do anything else then just do what was needed to get it running. It still is a really nice car though and a true low mileage example, it's just had a rough 27k miles. Here's some pics I took of it in march of 09'.

The car at this time was sitting outside of an auto garage / gas station and I couldn't really get any info on it. I was told that it wasn't for sale and that the owner didn't have the money to fix it but wasn't going to sell the car. I gave them my card hoping for a call but never had the luck. I wouldn't pay more then 18k for this car, but at that price I think it could be a damn good buy for someone who will give it the love and attention it needs.

That's a real mystery car for sure!......2, possibly 3 owners with that low mileage? The seller appears to be honest and up front about the car in his description (for the most part), and the car certainly looks waaaaay better now than it did. But, my concern, if I was interested, would be the overall condition of the car, especially the engine. A thorough PPI and engine anaylsis would be in order, as a car that has obviously "not" been well cared for (until recently, for resale) would worry me alot!

Someone may indeed fall into a nice example (as renewed), with low mileage, but caveat emptor on this one. Notice I didn't say "nice low mileage example"...sorry, but this car doesn't fall into that category given its history (I can't agree with the seller calling it a "nice unmolested original only 27k mile" example). A car that has been left sitting for years and sun faded probably hasn't received needed "correct mechanical maintenance" either.

At least someone may end up adopting this one and enjoying it...after all it's still an E30 M3.....but I just can't get those old photos of the car, trimmed in "gold" outta my mind! Sheesh! Kudos to the present owner for saving this one, as long as he doesn't get too greedy....my bet is his reserve is pretty high (probably too high!).

We'll see in 2 days when the auction closes......
