  • 1988 M3 on Ebay

I don't know if this was discussed already...Hope this isn't someones car here.
Nice clean car but damn that is one suspicious door VIN! Looks cut out from another car and pop riveted on. Looks like a old NY back yard retag job. I don't see any VIN stickers on the fenders or otherwise either. Careful with this one.

It was a rust bucket! Also these guys (small dealer) have been trying to sell for awhile now. It's listed on manhiem private auction for a lot less! I heard from other members that the paint and rear bumper look a bit off!

You can see a VIN Sticker on the underhood in the proper place in one pic! Really strange though why there are rivets in the door jam Manufacturer Sticker....looks rusty underneath, etc. Any prospective buyer should demand a thorough explanation on what is up with that.

From a distance the car looks fairly nice, but I'm sure that those of us who really know these cars could pick it apart for sure! And don't you just love the way some sellers shine up the tires with high gloss tire spray??? When I see that, I "run"!

Naaaaa.... NY'ers are much more professional with their re-tags... LOL!! :nesaw: Honestly, I think this one holds true with "you can't polish a turd".... between the shady VIN, missing front bumper parts and missing trunklid gasket, it looks like it has not been in the hands of an enthusiast.... someone slammed this thing back together with zero attention to detail.

Price keeps going up on this car?? Right front fender is missing bolts onto body, right rear arm rest panel off. The seller needs to remedy these visual before taking the pictures. I can see why everyone is suspicious. Yet they list is for more as time goes on, go figure.

I'm a dealer on the weekends... its on Manheim.com for 13,920...

He told me he'd let it go for $13.5k... I can help someone buy it through our dealership if interested. Not interested in any profit...
                Cheers.
