  • $39K reserve on ebay for this 73K mile red/black one

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-...t_19931wt_1182

Yes, it's nice. BUT, the reserve is kinda steep..

not mine (I wish it was)

I'm glad they are reaching for the sky with the reserve. Makes mine worth more I guess. For anything close to
the reserve, I'd surely force them to replace the upper strut bushings... they look shot!! Given that, what else
    has been overlooked???

Yeah, when I heard it was fourty grand I almost did a double take. However it's what's happening to rare cars like this, the market will bear what the market will bear. Just like the housing market here in Toronto, I can't believe what people are paying for the price of admission but if there's a buyer at the price the seller wants, then so be it.

Nice looking car....one of my favorite color combos (zinno/black), at least it looks like zinnoberrot. Fairly low mileage and good condition brings alot of money these days huh? Makes me sorta wish I'd bought that 1 owner 45k mile '88 DS/Black back in '08 (for $22k) when I was looking. I'd say this car is worth more like $30k - $34k (and that may be high depending on history & maintenance)...just my opinion. Oh, just noticed Nick's post re panels being replaced and non-original paint. Value is much lower than $30k! But, someone may bite.

This car is only 5 minutes from my house, and I know the body shop this particular dealer uses for work. Classic Car Gallery does a lot of consignment, if anyone is truely interested I can find out more information. The price is steep, but its a good effort to boost overall value of our cars.

car has cheapo fuzion tires, description is wrong, saying it has 17" wheels...jeez. take a look before you write the ad.

                      Front seats have been recovered.

Car still presents well, regardless of the hits it may take from us casual onlookers. All said & done, and not knowing much about the car other than seeing it here and reading input from those who know things about this car, the seller would have been wise to take the $30,100 high bid on ebay (that's strong money for a going on 80k mile car with known body repairs/repaint)....it's sort of amazing bids went that high sight unseen.

Looks like a quality restoration....I'd take a great painted car over paint that's 20+ years...you buy a stock one for $20,000 and dump $$$ on it...repaint, engine transform and good goodies easily would add up to another $15-20g's...this seems turnkey

Found a video of the car

I know both guys at CCG, and both cars. I HAD to go look!

That said, the cars are consigned. They are both well cared for, and in great shape.

                            Great examples.

I totally agree that the 7xK car's seller should take the $30,100. Top $$ these days.

The 23k mile car is a one owner car...!!! Who knows what that is really worth!?

Happy to assist if anyone has interest and wants me to look; I can be objective.

                            PM me

I hate when there are obvious errors in ads like these. It's simple to fact check and makes the seller look so unintelligent.
