Would anybody here have an extra pair of Rivets laying around in their E30 M3 treasure chest of goodies? NLA of course and I was told that the part 51711906001(Bling Plug?) would also work? Just wanted to confirm that it's an exact or very close to an exact part that can be used? I would prefer to use the original Rivet if possible.

According to BMW, the're back in production, but I'd call a dealer just to be sure. BMW p/n 51711952019

Correct Wurth part number is 0500411 if you need to go that route. You have to have a business account to purchase anything from Wurth, making it a monumental pain in the ass to get a box of these rivets. You can still get them if you can find a body shop or other source willing to order them for you. Still, expect a 90 day wait.

Brandon thank you for the links. I saw a few discussions on this topic but I wanted to see the actual parts before I got the other rivet/plug. The pictures that you provided looks to be the correct part. I have called the local dealerships and they say they are NLA still. I will call Fairfax and others and maybe get lucky. Not too many shops in my area that specializes in E30 M3 parts or rebuilds.

I will check the other parts as well from WURTH. Thank you once again!!

Had someone else get the wurth rivets and they do not work either. The wurth rivets that were referenced in here. I tried the other numbers as well and nothing so far as worked. Trying to GM 5mm rivet and seeing if that will work. I will know in a week when they arrive.

Did you try 51111942789 as they look like they fit, same size as the rivets I took out but I have not got round to refitting and if there not good I will have to start looking for a replacement 😞

I ordered that part but BMW never sent the parts from Jacksonville, FL. They said they had 700 of them. They lost the order and until now I forgot the number that I ordered. Thanks for reminding me.

51111942789 - is the part number that I told them I ordered and I couldn't remember it when I was there last. I will place an order for these tomorrow and hopefully the GM rivet or the BMW rivet 51111942789 will put an end to my search. It's been a pain in the rear I can tell you that. I will know by Wednesday if they fit and will work.

Thread bump. Does anyone have some rivets they'd sell? BMW is saying the OEM p/n is NLA again. Happy to use Wurth rivets if there are some available.

The ones pictured above are the proper part. I had to order a box of 100 and used them on my own car without issue. I gave the rest away to others over about a 2 year period for shipping costs. Go talk to your local body shop who has an account with Wurth and ask if they will help you out to order a box (you'll have to order a box of 100). I can't imagine why they wouldn't. Each car needs either 6 or 8. 2-3 for the back of each side skirt (don't remember off hand) and the two for the roof cap.
