I conversed with Lee at Massive, and he would love to do another run.

I would supply the installation kit at a cost of 1050$cad each and only the pre-ordered kitss will be produced. I will not stock them on such limited demand parts.

Installation kit includes everything but calipers and rotors.

- 2x Black anodized aluminum hats
- 16x stainless steel drive-pins and teflon seals
- 2x Black anodized aluminum radial mounts
- 2x custom 1/8npt-to-10mmx1 hydraulic fittings for OEM brake lines
- 2x OEM setscrews
- 2x 3mm or 4.5mm anodized wheel spacers
- 4x custom caliper studs and Jet nuts to mount calipers on radial mounts.

Shim kit for people using Narrow Radial Superlite is 50$cad (8 aluminum and stainless custom machined shims)

Shipping shall cost 30$cad in North America

Given the huge additional cost of the AP Racing calipers and pads, as well as the fitment flexibility that you get, the Wilwoods make the most sense to me. In particular, this gives everyone the option to run EITHER the full width caliper (cheaper, better pads), OR the narrow caliper if you have a really tight fitment.

Lee tells me that he's been getting a lot of inquiries about this, so I think there's enough interest to get it done.

Fitment discussion:

Old SLR had 72mm from center of rotor to outer face of caliper. New Radial Superlite has 70mm and the narrow body Radial Superlite has 60mm. I would supply free 3mm or 4.5mm wheel spacers with kits. Fitment on 15" rims will remain extra tight. But much easier with 16" and 17" rims. I was tracking very hard my front and rear 300x32mm Rallye BBKs using 17" Hartge rims and never was out of brakes on a stock S14 motor. Even when blockiung air ducts which I prefered as it kept rotors hot and pads soft, keeping a constant temp.

Why now? Well, I realized that the Rallye kit will actually clear my E28 M5 Style 5s! Given the smaller new calipers, either with no spacer at all, or at worst, a small one. (See attachment.)

Sadly, and I never understood why, Wilwood no longer offers 11.75"x1.25" heavy duty rotors. Only medium duty.

I suggest Hawk HR8000R and HR8000L (J-hooks) - Street cost is around $110usd each

It's tight, you'll need to make sure the wheel weights are installed as far inboard as possible to avoid interference with the caliper. The front control arm casting may also require a little bit of clearancing to clear the rotors.

Chris - I checked with Lee and the answer is yes, but unfortunately you won't be able to count towards the minimum threshold. See below for fitment commentary, as this kit is being made slightly differently.

Hardware and hats would be possible. But as I am changing the rotor offset by about 3mm, some 3mm shims will be required between the strut and the radial mount. Not a problem to supply them.

I'd suggest adding yourself as number 11. on the list if you're still interested, with a "front hats and hardware" note.

Unfortunately, the cost of calipers and pads, you’re pushing a huge increase in end cost. And Lee can only produce one set of radial mounts, which happen to be compatible with both Wilwood caliper options. Given the dramatically lower cost and greater flexibility of the Wilwoods, I selected those in setting up the group buy.

Not part of the GB, just sharing my experience with the Rallye kit. I have run the kit for about 12 years now. The kit held up to track and autox use over the years. It is awesome and worth every penny.

I see Wilwood has changed the rotor part number from 160-3846 -> 160-11611 -> 160-13497 over the years. The latest part # is thinner by 0.04" and less braking surface area. I suppose it would fit the original kit but also install with a little offset. The Hawk rotor looks to be exact fitment, so that's what I'll order for replacement. Thanks Lee for the info. I think I've changed rotors only once since new, hence lost track of the part # change LOL. One advice is to stock a spare set of rotors.

Also echoing the earlier post on checking for contact between the rotor and lower control arm, esp if you have E36 M3 arms. Check when the wheels are on the ground and full turn to turn sweep. Some grinding is likely needed.
