  • FS: 3D Printed Brake Intake Duct 1)Adapter 2)One Piece Brake Intake Duct

Printed on Prusa i3 MK3, with PETG filament.

    1) Adapter for OEM brake intake duct to 3 inch hose: $150.00 + shipping per pair
    2) One Piece Brake Intake Duct to 3 inch hose: $350.00 + shipping per pair uses the oem spring clips 51711910956 as on the oem brake duct. I only have 4 of these clips.

I plan to be at the E30 Picnic this Sunday in 102 degree heat? 2021 E30 Picnic | BMW CCA Puget Sound Chapter (bmwpugetsound.com)
I will bring my old bumper cover for your viewing on how adapter and intake will fit.
I will only be taking orders at the show. I just updated the clip attachment design yesterday, and will not have time to print any more in time for the show.
I will have a few pairs of my old design to sell those.

You can read about this project here: What should I 3D print? - S14.net (vbulletin.net)
Post #41 is how to install the adapter with pop rivets.
Post #32 is the old design of the one piece intake brake duct with the R clips as safety pins. If you repainted your bumper cover, this will be a tight fit.

Sorry not giving out the .stl files

Im not in the market, but they look great. Nice work on keeping the part options open.

I want a pair for my track car - been working on a quick release bumper and realized disconnecting my brake ducts every time was a non-starter. This will make the project possible!!

Which would you recommend for my application? Im tending to think the full printed duct / clips but will wait for your recommendation

The cleanest setup would be the one piece intake brake duct, the white one in the pictures above for 350, into some cooling backing plate set. For the best brake cooling.

I hope Fred will chime in. He has a race car, he ask for the adapter, and I sent him both adapter and one piece to try out. He likes the one piece. I have some older design adapter I will include with purchase of the one piece.

What do you have on your car now?
1)Do you have the kit already, E30 M3 Brake Cooling Backing Plate Set, like from Bimmerworld?
2)Do you have the BMW brake intake duct? with all the BMW ducting, as in: What should I 3D print? - S14.net (vbulletin.net) post #19?

Thanks guys! I already have brake cooling setup (bimmerworld style plates, ducting, and the duct intakes with oval ‘output’), it’s just not something I can quick-release.

I dont mind going with the white 1-piece units despite the price as they will work for my application.

I’m down for the one piece. Pm me when they’re ready I have clips so won’t need them.

              thanks!

I've got the adapters for the OEM ducts to 3 inch pipe. Works fantastic ... but Ed sent me a first generation one piece duct and we came up with the final design to have the OEM metal "fixing clamp 51711910956" which makes taking the duct on or off a snap. See how he added this on the white duct shown above. Ed is very meticulous.

I will be installing the one piece duct on my euro front bumper cover. The one piece duct that Ed makes fits and looks better installed than the OEM ducts. Plus with the one piece duct there is more clearance from the tire where as the OEM duct with the adapter, the 3 inch pipe sets in farther. I'll get some imaged posted as soon as I get the new ducts from Ed.

Here's a couple images of the OEM duct and Ed's one piece mounted to the bumper cover. Sorry, the detail on the one piece (black) one is not that good. But it does fit to the bumper cover better.

If you have a dedicated track car, I'd wait for the one piece duct. You'll be amazed on how much better the plumbing works out to the backing plates.

Interested in the adapter. Would they work with the replica ebay ducts?

I actually have replica ebay ducts, didn't know it but... they are different size than oem ducts. pm your address and I will send you sample size ones for you to try. You are in US I hope.
And send me a image of the oval shaped hole if you can.
