  • Motorsport 16v & Robert Startos

Motorsport 16v advertised and sold a flywheel claiming it was an Evo 3 light weight version. When it arrived it was quite obviously not. In fact, someone had taken a stock flywheel and made a horrible attempt at lightening it, and then sold it as a factory Evo 3 flywheel.

    Here are some pictures.

When confronted the he swore it was real and that the mechanic who was calling it into question didnít know what he was talking about. The mechanic (respected and very reputable) sent him pictures of a real one to help convince him. Here are some pictures of a real BMW light weight flywheel.

When Motorsport 16v saw this he pointed the finger at the person he bought it from, Robert Startos, and now refuses to refund the money until he takes this up with him. So it seems that if Robert Startos doesnít refund him then heís not going to refund Bill (who bought it from Motorsport 16v). Motorsport 16v bought it here on S14.net via this thread.

IMO, Motorsport 16v is responsible for refunding the money. His decision to take this up with Robert Startos should have no bearing on whether Bill gets a refund or not. He advertised it as a genuine BMW Evo 3 flywheel and it was not. It may not have been intentional, but this does not relieve him of responsibility to make good on this bad deal.

As for Robert Statos, his character is also called into question as he advertised it as the real thing, and continued to defend it as such when confronted. As an engine builder and racer he knows damn well it is not real.

Please take this into account if you find yourself considering doing business with either Motorsport 16v or Robert Statos.

I'm glad you bumped this up, Jake. I saw that 16v was trying to do some business again without setting straight old.
