  • Lower bolt for rear coil over

What would be a recommended bolt for a rear coil over? The internet searches turn up recommendations that are based on anecdotal evidence or just blind faith. Some say grade 10.9, some say 12.9. Some say 12.9 is "too brittle" and more likely to shear. Others say 12.9 has the greater tensile strength and that's all that matters. I've been using a 10.9 bolt.

All the suspension bolts on my Touring Car were 12.9 hardness, which is what I have been replacing them with when I service and also duplicated on my club race car when I converted to Gruppe A suspension.

As always with any information shared on an internet forum,,,YMMV...
