He, he. The idea came from someone's post on another S14 forum. His name is JulienM3 ;-) It gave me the idea to bring the panel I was about to produce into the 21st century.
I have jus started the development but it will probably look like this first test we just did.
Programation of language (French, English, German and Spanish), standard (Bar/ Celcius, or psi/Farenheit), temperature, pressure and fuel level warnings to be done by an infrared remote. There will be an temperature triggered switch for an auxiliary fan
Blank instrument panels as well as the one for one 80mm tacho and six 52mm gauges will be available in two to three weeks. A third version will be available in two months, using an 80mm tacho and 24x4 LCD display. The LCD display will be available separately too. The LCD display will be programmable by the user from an infrared remote.
Hi Lee
is it possible to get an DXF-File of this part it will save me a lot of time, on my actual project.
regards
Christian
I spent close to 40 hours on those. They will be for sale in the coming weeks. I don't mind sharing pictures of the development process, but I won't just give away files. ;-)
Pretty excited in the LCD display too. Even though I showed a drawing with orange LEDs and black background, the final product will most likely be a highly rredable yellow/green backlit background with black caracters. I am currently trying to source 6 panels in North America, for prototyping and testing. In order to include a bar graph, I have to use 24x4 displays and those are much rarer than the usual 20x4. Minimum order/production for those displays is 300 units. Therefore, I must make sure I am not going to goof. ;-)
