  • Switchable chip

    Yes I did a search.

    I found this online http://members.fortunecity.com/horst_apfelthaler/m3.htm

This guy seems to have made a switchable chip. I would think this would be rather simple thing to do in terms of building something myself that would have 2 chips and a switch so I could run different maps. As well as keep the stock chip in when needed for smog.

    :OMG:

I use the fuel selectors for some sort of switchable chip.
One map for 98Oktan and the other for 95Oktan if I can find SHELL Optimax. Just installed a switch between the black connectors in the harness

Goodbye M3, you served me well.

Is this what your talking about? Babelfish destroyed the translation for me. But It seems like I buy this plug it into the ECU. Then I put 2 cpu's into the plug?

          well...

i dont know exactly how it works (i've never tryed it) but on the webite they say that with this thing you can choose between 4 different maps, maybe with some particular eprom i suppose.

This system uses a bigger eprom size.

For example, if you are normally running a 128 ko chip, it will be replaced by a 512 ko.

The switch then jumps at the 4 different adresses which means 4 different programs.

            Regards

            Stef
