  • 2.5 chip recommendation

    Hi All,

I'm in the process of a 2.5 rebuild. What chip should I get with these mods. I'm in CA (crappy 91 octane gas)

    2.5 rebuild:

    EVO III crank
EVO III 272 cam (intake) - IF I EVER FIND ONE
    EVO II 264 cam (exhaust)
    EVO III valve springs
EVO II 2 piece 50/50 header/ stock cat
    EVO III AFM
    EVO III 48mm throttle bodies
    Mild porting

    Thanks,
    Joe

    2004 Ford F-150 FX4
2005 KTM 450EXC (More fun than all of the above)

    Gone:

    1988 BMW M3 2.5 EVOIII Replica
    1985 BMW M635CSI
    2001 BMW M3
1988 BMW 325is (E30 M3 springs, steering, Konis, etc) - my favorite BMW - missed.

The only 2.5L premade chip I know of is Turner's. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...UCT_ID=071-250

Who makes custom burnt chips? I know Jefrem is close to making his 2.5 chip and I have a car sitting in the garage with big greens and no chip to tell them what to do ( Turners 2.5 chip that came with the kit won't cut it) . I don't really wanna shell out 275 bucks for the EVO 3 JC chip only to have Jefrem make his and be better, but at the same time I don't want the car to sit in the garage looking all sporty and undriveable.

Wouldn't custom chips get expensive everytime you have to burn a new one for the next major mod you do? I still have all the major hardware addons to go aside from cams and would hate to keep buying custom chips as i go along.
