Well, the morons who run the state don't care about any of that. They are too busy pushing their politically correct psuedo socialist agenda......and finding new things to tax....

That doesn't sound like I have an axe to grind does it...?:ha:

That is all too true! Here in NJ, probably the most corrupt state in existence, all the politics/state contractors are in bed with each other.

The new thing for this year is raisng the toll on the major hwy's and hiking the gas tax since we have done that in ahwhile. They tax everything but feces over here.

Oh, and we just abolished the death penalty!!

Ted quick check on Oregon came up with this

          http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/vehicle/emissions.shtml

          Who Needs Emissions Testing?

Most vehicles in the Portland metropolitan or Medford areas must pass a Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) emissions test as part of the registration tag renewal process. Most vehicles new to Oregon must also pass the test prior to being registered in Oregon.

In the Portland area, you're required to have your vehicle inspected if it is a 1975 or newer model (view detailed information).
In the Medford (Rogue Valley ) area, vehicles 20 model years old and newer are tested (view detailed information).
Cars, trucks, vans, motor homes and buses powered by gasoline or alternative fuels such as propane are tested.
Diesel-powered vehicles with manufacturer's gross weight rating of 8,500 pounds or less are tested.

I was told the 25 years isn't going to continue in PA. That the cars after...83 IIRC are going to continue to be inspected and have to pass (If regestered as normal street transportation and/or driven over 2k miles a year).

Here in Colorado I think it's 25 years... However in our state we just got these new drive through emission testing stations that sit along side of the on-ramps to the highways. No safety inspection of any sort, just drive through and you will get the results in the mail if you passed or not. My friend figured out a way to "screw the system" He drives a very modified honda S2000 that will not pass emissions, So he switched plates with his buddies S2000 (same color) and drove his friends car through with his plates on it. I guess thats another way to be exempt if you have drive through emissions you your states.
