Probably I'm rehashing the obvious here, but I have found that just driving my car up on a couple of 2X6 boards lifts it enough to get a (low profile) drain pan under the motor, yet leaves it low enough to do the filter easily without moving it. I also find that if I take the rubber elbow between the AFM and the intake plenum off, wait till everything cools off, then put a bread sack over the old oil filter, that the filter change is easy enough. Peake tool will reset the service indicator lights on the dash.
I guess my point is that you don't need a lift or even a real shop to do your own oil change.
I hear so many horror stories about "stupid lube" joints, dealers charging an arm and a leg for an oil change, putting in the wrong oil, too much, not enough, stripping drain plugs, leaving drain plugs loose, etc. that I wanted to point out, particularly to the newer owners, that this is an easy DIY job.
