Nice car. I'm surprised that they just threw on US E30 sidemarkers like that. They could have easily retrofitted US E30 M3 markers in the proper location. Anyway, the car looks great and you can easily tell the gear ratio of the diff by locating the diff Tag on the housing. It'll probably be covered in grime so bring a rag. Should say S3.25 (assuming it's a euro diff) and S4.10 if it's been changed to US standards. A US tranny with 3.25 gearing would make the car extremely slow off the line though. Perhaps a 4.10 was swapped along with the US tranny.

I'm assuming that a couple of things are related to this car being imported in 1987.

      1. There were no US M3's so they used what side marker lights there were.

      2. The car has a 325is speedometer in it. Again, because there were no M3's yet with MPH speedometers. This is something I'd like to change. If anyone knows a good way to get ahold of a European M3 speedometer I'd like to track one down. I'm limited by cash-flow but I'd like to take the car as close as possible to original european spec.

      Thanks guys!
