I bought some M5 -0.8 x 10mm bolts from Home depot and the thread pitch is wrong. I'm going to try M5 -0.5 and see where that goes. Just an FYI to keep the thread alive.

The screws you are looking for are M5x0.8x 6 mm in length, the one at home depot works, they are just a bit long, you can buy this 07119913231 part number from BMW and cut them to length or you can get the home Depot ones

No, the .08 thread pitch is incorrect. We need .05 thread pitch. I tried them again last night just for grins and they definitely do not work.

I have the Bosch distributor cap. Do you have the Bosch or the Bremi? When I finally get time, I'll get around to buying the .05 pitch bolts.

Old thread... I know... My independent shop forgot to replace the M5-0.8mmx6mm bolts after some work and I ordered some stainless steel ones from Grainger. But the M5-0.8mm x 6mm bolts come is packs of 50, so I have a lot left over. If anyone needs some, PM me and I can send you 3+spares to your US address.

Hi can you send three to me? Address is 6414 Savannah Pl Stockton CA 95219 (Zoltan Varga) - thanks much!!

I always thought that these bolts came with the ignition distributor and not the cap.
