    Every new car i saw had them back in the day and if they didn't I assumed they were lost, broken or the owners removed them. No one liked them even back then.

    Right - like the ones pictured on the red car above. You just can't see the vents really well there. Some US cars shipped with them, some did not. I don't know if it was a dealer option.

    Some are metal. ..some plastic. They face the drivers side where the us spec cover is vented to provide air flow. So running euro covers with the non evo airbox would block the intake airflow.

    It did ship with tow hook covers. Black 'venty' looking covers.

    You can see it clips facing the driver's side to the plastic ducting. Further down is the opening sometimes covered by a grill or left open in the US - opposite side of the tow hook. US cars didn't ship with tow hook covers.

    Interesting, my car had the evo air box and snorkel when I bought it, and the stock snorkel as well, but my stock one is metal!
