  • Overhead panel lite wonít go out ?

Usually this is caused by a faulty brake light relay in the trunk, or by lamps that are old and drawing too much power. Easiest would be to replace all of the lamps. If that does not fix it, replace the relay.

I think I misunderstood... I think you are saying the warning light flashes even after you push the button to cancel it? If so, then disregard my previous post. What I described is when the brake light is flashing and everything seems to be working properly. If you cannot cancel the warning, then I'd say the unit itself has probably failed. Maybe swap the one from your IX to the M3 and see if the problem goes away.

Thank you for responding on my control panel brake lite problem . Pushing the brake pedal cancels the flashing dash lite it should. But I can not get the control panel Brake lite to cancel out . I did swap out my control panel from my IX 91í . It is an airbag car & has airbags warning on panel . Itís raing & cold today so I might not go out today . Isnít there a long ish black brake relay somewhere in that car if I remember right ?? Thank you for you thoughts , Joe

Never heard of this sort of problem before, but hey, these cars are getting older. Yes, the brake light relay is in the trunk behind the left trim panel near the amplifier if I recall correctly.
