  • Was oem sparkplug tool reproduced by bmw?

A while back remember seeing someone mentioning that the OEM s14 sparkplug tool was reissued by bmw.

Was at the bmw parts counter here in canada a few weeks ago and ordered what I thought was the reissued tool but turns out it was the Hazet.

I searched but couldn't find this info, did bmw reissue the OEM tool or the Hazet??

Yes it was reproduced by BMW but it doesn't work, the hex part doesn't fit in the spark plugs hole.

That's disappointing, and a little strange. I wonder if there's enough material to turn it down slightly?

Does anyone have a pn or willing to sell one, I would be interested to see if I could make it work

The originals were going for over $400 a few years back. I see ebay has one https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-M3-SPARK-PLUG-TOOL-S14-S38-FACTORY-ORIGINAL-NLA-VERY-RARE-/121791518158 .

                I also have a spare.

To me, they are only for completeness or where a show requires a complete tool set. The topic has numerous threads in S14.net.

Thanks for the feedback, I would be even more shocked if bmw continued to sell a tool that didn't work.

Is the new one you got oem/toolkit style or just a socket? Also would it be possible to please share the part number
