if you are using the original master brake cylinder you'll need a slightly different Airbox (on the underside) then the "normal" S14 one

      Airbox for 2002

      normal M3 E30

Which master brake cylinder works with the bigger airbox?

I believe he meant brake BOOSTER. not MASTER CYL. You need a tii booster. And that is for the 2002 specific airbox.

Tell your friend to go to bmw2002faq.com and search the project archives for s14 builds. Tons of info, including my 70+ page build thread.

What if he wants to run the larger airbox? Is this possible?

nope. not unless the brake system is changed to delete the booster entirely.

that is why there is an airbox made that is specific to the 2002......

this is how close the 2002 specific airbox sits to a tii booster. normal e30 airbox ain't gonna work.

it will work with his specific alpha N. He should contact John in Germany for the airbox (probably who he bought the Alpha N from) or Motorsport concepts who also sells those products. Either way, it all goes through John.

It's possible that Markus on this forum has that airbox as well, he's very responsive, it's worth sending him a PM to check

For God's sake dude, try using Google.

2015 group buy for carbon intake systems (aka CF airbox), currently in progress, production ending Feb. 28, 2015. These CF airboxes are hand made here...

Does your "friend" have any ability to do any research on the engine swap he is doing?
