I am buying a full 2.5 Liter Evo 3 spec motor with ported/polished head, cams, and etc. I purchased the Carbon Intake from Marcus and will be installing a standalone. Marc quoted me $1200 and given he is local to me, I saves me time and shipping.

Marc said $1200...given I can just drive down to him and don't have to pay for shipping, may be intriguing

          Update:

          Gents,

Well....nobody was interest in realizing my project! What does that mean my project ?

I have a pair from an S38 compete set which I ported by hand and flow-benched it. I was after a target results. After I reached my results I wanted to sent this worked out model and have whoever said "I can do it" to realize the project. Nobody wanted to take on my project. I was paying Top $ for this specific service and still no one wanted to take the project.

I have done it several times by hand and mill but only down side its time consuming!. Ones they are ported each throttle must be flow benched and matched to the other so that they are equal. The throttle Butterfly plate area is ported on a mil so that accuracy is exact like on CNC.

After several months working on them little at a time I completed the task. Custom plates. I also can machine the shaft flat which helps with the flow.

If somebody is interest in a set let me know. I have not put a price yet but It wont be $1300...as others offer.

My set outperforms what's available from other vendors and services available in the industry.

          Regards,
          Anri

Nice work Anri. I'm sure you spent a lot of hours on them. They look huge. Are they larger than 48mm? I'm surprised I missed this thread. Extrude Honing comes to mind to me as a potential option. Although I've never had a set bored out this way, it does make sense that extrude honing could do an acceptable job, but not as good as doing them as you did.

              Hi Ron,

              Thanks for your reply.

Yes they are larger than what's out there available from any source they offer this service.

I am aware of Extrude Honing but it was not even an option in this specific project given the various reasons and issues I faced. I made my own tooling/sand ball in order to take a lot of material in short grinding sweep otherwise I need 6+months....

I will test polishing process and will give a sample/pair to the metal polisher I use and see how they turn out, I want to see mirror finish inside!

S14 is one very expensive exotic love.

              Regards,

                  Looking very good Anri,
Big thank you for the advise you gave me on removing the throttle shaft screws and setting up the butterflies.

Excellent and time consuming work you are doing, replacing the shaft bearings is a lot harder than can be appreciated.

                  Dave.
