  • Recommend a transporter

Hi all, I need to transport an E30 M3 from San Diego to NY. Of course I require enclosed transportation. I reached out to the usual Wayne Carini approved suspects (Intercity, Reliable) but wondered if anyone has any other suggestions? Danke - Rich

    Hi Rich,
When I bought my E30 Cabrio out of Atlanta to my home in Northeast PA I used Thomas Sunday, recommended to me from someone on the E30 M3 SIG.

I had good results with them, driver was great, car arrived in perfect condition.

I used Horseless Carriages to transport my M3 from Eastern PA to NorCal when I moved in 2005. I was very happy with the whole experience. I like the part that the truck your car is loaded on is the same truck that drops it off -no transfers, same driver. They have lifts on the trucks, so no ramps. And the pickups and drop offs are scheduled to minimize your car being shuffled around the carrier.

PS: I had Mayflower transport my DD as my future employer paid for that. That was also enclosed. The driver was smoking the clutch driving up the ramps. Car arrived with a few scuffs and lots of dust.

Give it the ole Italian Tune Up along the way and it’ll run like a charm upon delivery.

There'll be Spandex jackets one for everyone ...

Can you guarantee no passing of gas during the entire drive?

I used a broker, Bao Tran who was recommended to me from several members when shipping my car from New York to San Diego a couple years ago. 202-253-6106. Was enclosed trailer, my car value was a rounding error compared to the value of the other vehicles on the transport when they delivered it to my door.

I've used Bao Tran as well for several cars that came over from California to NJ. Good Pricing and Excellent communication. Would recommend her as well.

shouldn't you add registration fees for track days all the way across the country to the expenses?

FYI I booked with Coastal, their Yelp reviews are very impressive (FWIW) and service thus far has been great. Plus the transport is done with a team of two drivers in the truck so non-stop, will go from SD to NY in 4 days.
