  • ARP Headset for S14

    Hello

Hopefully this is the right area, I need a set of ARP head bolts/studs for a S14, can anyone point in the direction of a dealer/stock that actually has them in stock.

    ARP 201-4605

    I'm based at Lancaster California

    TIA

BMW Motorsport department used stock head bolts on both GrpA and DTM.

Do you still feel the need for ARP hardware?

Yes, they did and yes they work great and seem to be a part that lasts for a long time. The head bolts are not always available from BMW, lately I have heard people needing to use ARP studs due to no other options. Supply chain is affecting everything.

        Vac usually keeps a stock.

Another option....Raceware makes an S14 head stud kit, every bit as good quality as ARP IMHO. I found them several places on the 'net, including this set on Ebay that is a smoking good deal:

Hello, I have a S14 I'm rebuilding and it has no headbolts at all, I'd not considered standard ones to be fair but will have a look

              Thank you

I have a set of lightly used ARP head studs. PM me for details. I believe I also have a set of used stock head bolts too.

Vac has them-but i would recommend their ARP head bolts rather than studs as those dont need to be retorqued after running. stevesingo do you recommend running the stock/seasoned headbolts on a supercharged build? Thinking with the extra pressure it would be wiser to use the VAC ARP head bolts. I think for a stock rebuild the stock/seasoned headbolts will be fine.

In supercharged S14 we have used new original headbolts (stock torquing) without any problems in the engines up to 1.8bar / 700hp / 800Nm. With Athena coopperring or Cometic multilayer headgasket.
There is no need for "better" bolts/studs.

That’s good to hear-for the cometic gasket did you also spray with copper sealant or install dry?

I have used VHT Copper spray with cometic gasket.
Both head and block surface machined "100%" perfect.
i have used 3-layer "HP"- cometic, but I suppose it is not available anymore.
