  • Shim under bucket valve lash caps

Wondering for those who run shim under bucket if there is a maximum thickness for the valve lash cap. I am swapping cams with a smaller base circle while keeping the same valve length and need a thicker valve lash cap (range 4.4-4.65mm). Before they were 1mm shorter.

Will going thicker increase the risk of the lash cap slipping out or rocking out?

    Hi,

Would you mind sharing what cam size do you have and also what is the lift ?

If it is shim under, that lash cap sits in a recess 'under' the bucket. I am not sure how that would be possible without 4+mm of valve float at high RPM?
