  • C pillar detail

    Hi All,
This post might be blasphemy but I am building an m3 replica with metal parts from e30 garage Norway. I have search but am unable to find an answer related to the c pillar to roof junction. Was the original roof cut or was the extension just welded to the existing roof and the the cover strip applied? Any detail or pictures would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think it was an entirely different roof assembly.

I believe the M3 C-pillar sits on top of the original e30 roof. At least that's how it looks on my M3.

Can't say how it was done at the factory, perhaps the last bit that would but up to the non-M3 window frame was cut off.

it's put onto the roof skin which is not changed or cut in any way.

Huh, I thought that the extension piece was fiberglass/plastic, it appears to be metal in the video!

Here's a short vid that will help you. The roof panel is the same. The C pillar brow is an add-on as you know, going over the crest of the rear of the roof.
