  • Blue ignition wires

It’s been a while since posting. My driver M3 is coming back from looong storage.

Does anyone remember the source of these race type blue ignition wires? It must be 15 years now since buying them from someone who bought them from the source. It could have been a low volume group buy. Just trying to refresh my memory.

    thanks!

I found my answer. I bought them off of Ara. He bought them from jimmy p. Ara had a firesale after busting his head.

Maybe jimmy p can refresh my memory about the specs.

you can probably just make them or have them made. There's not all that much special about wires.

I have them on my car, just want to remind myself of their specs and fabrication source.

Hi Guys, Those blue wires in the picture were part of a few custom sets I had built for myself (and I sold a few sets once I put what I needed into play).
If you look at where the wire meets the spark plug boot you can see how it bulges out, those were a 10mm solid core wire stuffed into E30M3 Beru boots.
I had them built by Kingsborne.
They "hated" building them because of what a bitch it was getting the 10mm wire into the Beru parts that were intended for 7mm wire.

I think there are 6 sets in existence (well that I had made and when I had them done they said they were the only ones they had done to date).
Last time I asked them they said they could no longer get the E30M3 Beru parts and they were no longer offering S14 / S38 wires.

Thank you Jimmy! I had that info somewhere but lost it.

I have noticed how they’re stuffed into the ends. I did not realize only 6 made!

                No problem.
I still have three of the sets myself. Well two sets on my two street cars and one set on my brothers M3.

My last set of wires I assembled myself. Just source the cable of your choice, and order the ends from Kingsborne. At least they had everything at the time (10 or so years ago).

You need a large crimper for assembly, but that's it as far as tools needed.

I think the biggest problem is that Kingsborne (nor anyone else) can get the Beru ends anymore. I asked a few years ago and they could no longer source them.
