  • Bumper Stripe Decals

Anyone know a good place to purchase the m3 red bumper stripes from? I believe the following part numbers are correct:
    Front center strip: 51 14 2 233 024
    Front left strip: 51 14 2 233 025
    Front right strip: 51 14 2 233 026
    Rear bumper strip: 51 14 2 233 023

looks like i can find the rear and front right, but not the others, thank you!

If Markus doesn't have any, you could buy from Kassel. Not OEM but they have good reviews.

That electrical tape looks okay, and I have it on my track car, but it's narrower than the OEM stuff. If you want it to look right you need OEM or one of the reproductions.

You have to be looking VERY close to notice that difference

Here's a pic of the red Scotch electrical tape next to OEM. The difference in thickness is 3.5mm, which is what Adam's mom tells me he is taint to tip.

The issue I've found with the electrical tape is that because it's narrower you have to be careful to apply it straight. It has a tendency to wander in the groove when you apply it, looking uneven. To get it straight you need to pull it taught while applying, but because electrical tape is rubbery it will stretch, as designed, when doing so.

The other problem is shrinkage, ask Adam. Over time the tape dries and shrinks, especially if you've stretched it while applying, this causes the ends pull back and the edges roll and lift.

Otherwise it's not a bad solution. The color is a good match and it's easy to come by.
