  • 2023 suspension options.........

Looking for updated information on suspensions in 2023. There doesn't seem to be much feedback on the KW product that came out recently. Right now I have a car (Lachs) with Bilstein/H&R Sport, and it's plush, but not what I'm looking for. The race car (Michelin) has MCS 2WR, and it's amazing when it's on a smooth street, but running that level on the street, would mean rebuilds too much.

Yes, I drive my car(s) that much. Upwards of 7,000 this last year on the Lachs.

The new to me car that I am getting, has brand new Konis (the TC Kline spec with SA front and the DA rear) on the stock springs. Wondering if just swapping in H&R race springs will do the trick? Not really looking for sending off strut housings to be modified.

Then there is the KW. If the V3 has good reviews, that is an option as well.

I'd say the H&Rs will not have enough spring rate, and the dampers won't have enough compression damping. I tried this setup on my car and found that it would bottom the suspension over the smallest ripple in the pavement, a bigger imperfection (aka pot hole) would leave me wondering if I had broken something every time. I eventually blew out the front Konis (Tops separated from the lower tube) and I went to Turner J stock springs and Group N Bilsteins on the front, and the J stock springs with the TC Klein dampers on the back (set full hard). IT doesn't seem to matter what I throw at the suspension, the car handles it, and sticks like nothing else I've ever driven on street tires.

Here is the rebuild schedule for the MCS dampers

      Street : 25,000 miles
      Street/HPDE: 15-20,000 miles
      Sprint: 150 hours
      Sprint/Enduro: 125 hours
      Endurance Race: 75 hours
      Every 5 years

You know my opinion - go with MCS and don't look back.

I purchased kw v3 6 months back, the rears were not adjustable on that set.
I purchased kw v3 last month - they now come with adjustment.
Not yet fitted to the car. so no further information.

Koni Sport S/A's and H&R SPORT (NOT Race) are a great combo for street fun and mild track days. My definition of mild track days is running at 80% in the instructor run group. They do not bottom out, even in the banked turn on Summit Point Shenandoah course. I run higher end MCS and JRZ on the race cars, but those are a complete waste on a street car.
