  • Uk Cecotto value

Does anyone know what the going rate is for a cecotto? My insurance is for agreed value and I'm wondering how much I should say it's worth.

It's not immaculate but it is in very good condition, it's standard and has done 120,000 miles.

    Thanks.

Sorry for the above post, just couldn't resist it. I sold my Cecotto last year for 11500 but it was a 75,000 mile car in "better than new" condition and there were about three people prepared to pay the same amount.

Funny prices are going down in the UK and up on the mainland for special versions...

Based on recent feedback I would put a floor of 10k for a good condition one.

The trouble with these cars is, as there all 15 years old ish, their is some real shite about, and the real nice ones are getting few and far between, if your the type of person whom wants something percific in model and colour, and then in top condition, most will pay extra for that exact car, they want, most of us comprimise and buy the best we see, when we start looking before we get too pissed off at looking at cars not suitable, So in my opinion the cars are worth what someone is willing to pay, and on this basis ADRIANS car was a bloody minter, to the extreme, in my opinion, and worth the 11500 UK pounds, on this basis this is why my M3 is worth 50.

Please note I was referring to current (July/August 2005) Cecotto values only rather than other special editions or variants.

Supply and demand I suppose. It's said the continentals are now coming to the UK to buy our S14's. Prices in Germany seem to have increased quite a bit in the last year.

Thank's guys, I was thinking of around 8000 but if you use Adrian's car as a bench mark and say for one in new condition with 75k miles is worth 11,500, then I'm thinking may be I should say it's worth 9,500 and see what they say.

Kevin you don't have any copies of adverts with those sort of prices do you?

                        Hi,
Just out of interest and no intention of selling mine as I have had quite a bit of work done, what sort of discount would a car be worth without original service history (Italy) but history and a stack of bills over the last 3 years from the uk. I was having this conversation with a friend and his argument is that with these cars getting on now (mine being apr 89 no 346) and people really do judge value on condition of car more these days< not a book full of bmw stamps.

                          Paul,

These cars now seem to be selling more by word of mouth than people advertising them so no recent adverts., sorry.

                          Adrian,

I would support your friends perspective, that for buyers who know what the cars are all about, the current condition, and recent (2 - 3 years) history of servicing & work done should be worth more than a stamped service book that is over 10 years old. That said it is nice to have the history but I would be surprised if people paid a premium for it but I guess there is always a buyer out there who has the money.

                            Kevin,
Thats what we thought to be honest. Thats good news for me anyway. I must get round to giving you the car's details for your register. What info did you need for this?
Dont know if you have seen the car on the ninemeister porsche specialists(uk) website. Looks nice. macau blue 9995gbp
