  • Temp Gage not working

I replaced the 2 temp sensors on the cooling rail and the gage still reads the engine is cool. Any ideas.

Have u tried testing to see if the meter(gauge) its self is working? Its a slim chance but they do go bad every once in a blue moon. Also did u do a continutity chech on the wires(may have gotten cut somewhere, primarily where they enter through the firewall)

Small 6 mm brass nut on the back of the gauge. This little nut provides the grounding of the gauge and typically backs off over the years.

Typical indication of this is a 'bouncy' gauge. (Works some times, does not work other times). I've done this fix on two E30s and two E28s.
