I have downloaded a version of this same movie with much higher resolution, by using Limewire.

This is extremely great footage. Look for it as "M3 la une".

Ahhh, back when Grandstand had motorsport on it. Great clip.
I believe Prodrive still own that car in their collection at Banbury.

Note the Castrol livery instead of the normal Bastos, even back 18 years ago British television had restrictions on tobacco advertising.

For more info on M3 rally cars take alook at S14's M3 Rally thread

But we didn't. It was only in recent years the F1 was stopped (Mid to late 90s IIRC) And there were multiple advertising hoardings advertising Fags (Cigarettes for our American friends :p ) until quite recently

Yeah I hear what you're saying Rich but you're looking at International events filmed by companies abroard e.g. F1 - If a motorsport event was held in the UK and filmed by a British film crew (BBC) then it came under restrictions even back in the 80's Don't ask me how sports such as snooker got away with it for so long, they obviously had different rules. We still see tobacco advertising on certain F1 events, perhaps the US GP in 3 weeks time will show that. But play an F1 event from the mid 80's which was screened on the BBC and I bet you will see the tobacco advertising is distorted.

e.g. We see the great man himself below in Marlboro colours but no Marlboro wording.
