      www.alloembmwparts.com

I get most of my stuff from them since they carry Worldpack's entire parts lineup. Worldpack supplies most small repair shops and parts stores in some form or another. Their prices are very good (My local parts hookup has a hard if not impossible time beating them), and they carry most everything you will need including several OEM brands of pads as well as Zimmerman.

At the very least use the web site as a parts guide so that you can bargan shop from there.
You can also use their part number database to see how much you got reamed by a mechanic for parts. Comes in handy if you want to dispute a bill.

Don Fields (when DF talks people listen) suggested Mintex Red Pads for street and Mintex race pads for occasional Auto-x'ers. Evo rotors were the ones he chose.

Disclaimer: Remember, I know absolutely nothing, but it doesn't prevent me from having an opinion or suggestion. :

The only rotors that are avaliable now are the Evo rotors. BMW doesn't make the regular ones anymore. The only difference is the type of iron used to make them.
