    it stands for digital motor electronics, the BMW(!) name for the electronic control unit that controls ignition and fuel injection (in a single casing). Motronic is the BOSCH registered trademark for the same thing.

    So I called Progama to find out how much they would give me on my old DME(b/c it says on their website they buy broken ones).... $45 :focker:

    I know they charge their customers a 200 core and they would resell my DME for about 500 bucks.

    WTF is that crap...i'll just hve it repaired :idea:

    So i got a new DME(thanks Joel aka S14Fever)



    Put it in....NO START....WTF


















    oops i forgot i left the spark plug wires out :hee:





    Started right up...drove around pretty nice...now i just have to swap the TMS chip into the new dme b/c it was running what seemed like very rich with the stock chip.

    Should be back on the road shortly woohooo :Jake::healthyjake: :Jake: :headspin:

    Which i re-soldered the loose large grey resistor....now i can get the car to run, but not smoothly....WTF

    To expand on what Chris said....IIRC, the core on the DME is quite large so, the actual cost is closer to $400 than the $600+ I stated before.
