  • 7pc External Torx Socket Set E6-16

Anyone know where they sell these over the counter?
No time to order... Trans here Wed. New seals Thurs, install Fri.

    7pc External Torx Socket Set E6-16 $14.07

    http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/TOOL/POR_TOOL_CAT040_pg2.htm

Plan to slip in a new trans while my car is in for exhaust work while the exhaust is down.
Its just going to be a quickie, will not disturb the hyd clutch or need a trans alignment tool. Just swapping the trans. Getting the tools together and realized I do not have the above sockets.
Would anyone who has done this more times than they care to remember
jot down a quick tool list? I believe I have everything but the above mentioned ext. torx sockets. It will just make it easier if I bring my own / right tools for the job.

    Thanks!

    Auto Zone had 'em. 4 piece set E8, E10, E12 & E14.
As I recall those looked like the right sizes.
Cant imagine needing anything below E8, but will I need the E16?
    Thanks!

I got a 6 piece Facom set from Ultimate Garage a few years ago. Ask Steve to overnight. Not cheap, but excellent quality.

I bought mine from Wal-Mart for $20, made by Stanley, and last forever they don't strip like Snap on.

I know Sears has the 10-piece Lisle set.

the snap on set has a tendancy to run a little small causing stripping, i'e cracked quite a few bits as well.

Got the trans today. Looks good (aside from the input shaft sticking out of the box & clean red oil all over from the vent)

I think I've seen that same set at sears for around the same price IIRC.

I think you should be o.k. with that assortment, just make sure you have long extensions. I have 24-36 inch extensions which are 3/8 on the front and 1/2" for my impact gun.:jakeguita
