  • Opinion on IE race spring

Hi I have H&R sport spring right now. I was thinking of lowering the car more. I was thinking of
cutting the fronts 1/2 a spring combined with 3mm pads.

Then I saw this IE E30 Stage 3 Race Springs. Anyone had used these? Are they too stiff for street?

    Thanks,
    Robert

IMHO, Cutting springs is a gamble. If the look is what your looking for then by all means cut away. You will be seriously messing with the spring rates. You can end up with a rigid/bouncy ride upfront..

IE3's are modeled after H&R Race springs so I doubt they are stiffer. Both springsets are designed with inactive coils that bind together so cutting 1/2 a dead coil isn't a big deal but H&R sports may be different. I would just go with one of the above springsets.

I like the IE stage 3's. My buddy ran them on his 325is and daily drove the car. They felt good and paired with Koni's I felt were livable on the street.
