  • door seal?

My 89 m3 sits out in the sun, and over the years on the inside of the door, there is a black plastic thing that gos around the inside of the door/window. well it is starting to fall off, so i push it back on but it keeps coming off . Also seems as if it has shrunk. hard is it to fix that, and what do you use to keep it from coming off again, Glue? what kind etc. Thanks guys :thank you

3m weatherstrip adhesive should work and can be had at Wal-Mart for ease of finding....

Sun or shade, they all shrink. But it is the extent of the shrinking to watch out for. Some shrinkage is okay but still has a seal on them. Have not seen one that is totally shrunk. Are your seals so bad that water drips thru? Or even wind noise?:2c:

Yea mine lets wind noise in, but not water yet. You think i should go to bmw and buy a new seal, then use the 3m stuff to put it back on?

I didn't use any when I re-did all the seals on my car. Everything fit perfect with some patience and muscle.

Is there a way on how to remove the door sills (have been thinking of this proceedure). Since they have to come off in order to replace the gaskets?
