Yeah I knew it was in London (shipping, federalization, all the other BS)...but i would think if the car was for sale over here, that it would get scooped up in a second at that price.

I actually saw this car live in person back in 2000 at Munich Legends and chatted with the owner. I even exchanged numbers with him in the event he wanted to sell it in the future. It is well cared for.

The car has been tracked. You just have to look through some back issues of BMW Car to find that.

The issue that prevented me from buying the car is that it is a 1991 registered car with a build date in 1990 ( I believe ) and would require the installation of an airbag. That would add about $5K to the cost.

Also, I think the car was advertised on autotrader.co.uk for about $16-17K pounds. Based on today's exchange rate, that's about $27K USD before doing the federalization $10K+, shipping and handling $3K, and Airbag $4-5K, Registration and sales tax $? depends on where you live. That makes this a hefty proposition in terms of cost to bring it here...

If you want a cabrio and don't mind it's been built from other E30 M3's and a E30 cabrio, you can spend $25K on this one:

I believe it belongs to Mike Downs on the SIGlist :p

LJAMES, who did the conversion (s50) for you, which shop?
I am planning to do the same thing to my 325.
                Thanks

                  Vlad,

The car with the S50 was done by Mike Robinson at Sports and Imports in VA. Send me a PM if you'd like to have a look.

Your other option would be the 3.0 stroker kit that Ireland Engineering sells. It's a bit more economical than doing the S50. I think there's a link for it in the links section.

It's the same car. I talked with Mike about the car, then contacted the owner via Roadfly. I guess it was on Ebay at the same time. We made the deal and I flew down a few weeks ago to drive it back to NJ. Needless to say, it's got TORQUE!

Just sold my 1987 AZ E30 325is a week ago to a local guy. Had to sell one and it wasn't going to be the E30 M3 Cabrio! So trying to figure out what to do next with this car.

Vlad, yours looks great! Would love to chat with you on how you about it. I'll drop you a PM. You're in NJ right?

                        Talk to you soon!

WTF I can't believe people are bidding on that civic? Oh man, it's got everything, it's practically a real M3 equipped with a powerful 1.6 that'll propel you from 0-60 in 11.5 seconds. Why would you make a honda into a BMW? I guess it's this guys answer to all the people ricing out their bimmers.
