  • Has anyone retrofitted e34 m5 handles on E30

Im thinking of retrofitting the E34 M5 Motorsport doorhandles on to my E30 M3. Has anyone done this or does anyone have any useful information before I jump into a project like this one. Any help is appreciated.

believe they are the same size. Might have to check as far as mounting goes though. Someone on here did it IIRC

isn't it just a sticker on an e34 handle?

They are very hard to come by...maybe I can get some measurements from my
        friend's euro E34 M5.

To those who may not understand what's involved here....

2 entirely different styles, requiring steel/body work to fit the M5 handles.
It is not even close to a unbolt/bolt on application.

The center area of the M5 handles are independent from the outter frames that look similar to the OEM M3 handles.

EDIT: Here is a good photo to show:

I researched these a bit to put on my M5. From what I read they're really hard to come by and on top of that they must be ordered with the chassis number so the correct locks come with them.

Thanks guys. If you want them I can get you the part number I called the dealer today and they are special order from germany so they will take about a week to get. List price is $252.75 After seeing the picture that UNHCLL posted they actually do look different. Thanks UNHCLL. Guys thanks.

i believe that you can also find these door handles on e36 325is M-tech models.

I agree here with Adam. It would definitely give it a unique look. It also definitely won't work on the E30 M3. I have a set of these door handles sitting in my garage and was going to use them on my E34 M5.

What about a cheaper solution....sending your e30 handles out to get machined print "BMW Motorsport"

Canal Plastics here in NYC can do that. I had them do a few things for me.
