  • FYI: BMW NA Parts Price Increases.

Has anyone really looked at the increases in BMW NA parts prices? Most people are aware of the increase in the F struts price. But while looking into trailing arm prices the increases are ridiculous. I looked at M Coupe arms back in 99 or 00 & a set was $600 from a dealer, now they are about $2000.

I suggest if you really need a factory part that's expensive, I'd suggest buying it soon before this gets worse.

    Thanks,
    Mike K.

Disclaimer: I do not work at a dealer or BMW in anyway. BUT my local dealer puts his name on my track car for advertising.

It is out of control, i priced cap/rotor/wires for my 88. With a so called "garage" price because i use this dealer often, my special price was over $900.00. I passed on that sweet deal!! Be good...Ted

I'm scared now... I hope nothing ever breaks or wears down on my car. I'm sure it won't

Is this the result of the poor economy, or is it just straight-up price gouging?

Weak economy and weak dollar compared to euro.

Say Huh?? The dollar has gained back abot 30 cents from 1.67 euro last summer to about 1.34 euro now.

Why I don't know but it bites needless to say.

That is true but know why prices have not come down though.

That I can not help you with. Prices have jumped drastically on many things. I priced out some stuff the other day and was not happy. Don told me the Evo III wings jumped about 400 bucks ouch.

Can't blame anyone really. With the money printers throughout the worlds working overtime currencies are loosing their value at an alarming rate. This really isn't about dollar vs euro any more.

BMW has to make money somewhere with car sales and leases down ~30%. I priced a new outer tie rod for my E36 and they wanted $77. Late last spring a full inner and outer tie rod assembly (Lemforder) was about $60.

                      So, it's not just E30 M3 things...

yup i feel your pains, i need timing chain guides mine are worn to all hell, the dealer is charging 1000 for two little metal pieces that guide a chain = ( ... awww i guess its because the demand for e30 m3 parts isnt high at all so the dealer can jack up the prices even higher..

                        best regards

These price increases are across the BMW product line, they are not model specific & they are coming from BMW NA /AG. Do not blame your dealer.

There is a price update the 1st of every month. Most of the item increase a bit but some do get cheaper. Thats life.
