Removing Old Window Tint

The tint on my car has probably been there since 1988 and is a pretty awfull shade of purple. Does anybody have any tips for removing old tint? Especially on the rear window with the defroster.

I used a hairdryer to loosen up the glue. Don't melt it! Just heat it up. I used goo gone (?) citrius cleaner to remove the glue. I was not ready for that work out, my shoulders killed me for days.:rolleyes:

best tip i can give you is take it to a shop. best 30 dollars youll ever spend. trust me its not worth the pain, plus ruining the defroster

I wish who ever owned my car before me spent the 30$ All my windows are scratched to hell and the rear defroster is almost all stripped off. I spent some 3 hours finishing off the rear window when I got it because it looked horrible.
