The advert for Pistonheads was written, submitted and I have to say, I had butterflies in my stomach - I pressed the Submit to PH button, checked out the add and then subsequently withdrew the ad.

I really really am in two minds. I dont use the car anymore, it no longer has a garage to live in and with restricted mileage of 5000K, I cannot use all the time to keep thing ticking over. It need a little work to bring her back to her glory.

I am getting a new MOT on Saturday and will see how it goes from there...

Getting in her for a weekend drive gives me such a buzz and smile....

Add to that, the News of the World (Sunday UK Paper, popular) has also written a section on this and I read too in the Telegraph that the Europeans are eager to get back LHD cars from the UK because it is cheaper and they are looking at M3's Evo Mercs and Integrale Lancia's...

He probably means that German is the home of the BMW E30 M3, now that the Euro is so strong against Pound you will see alot of these cars going home again, can't blame them really, the Brit's done it on the Europeans when the exchange was the other way.

When I was looking to buy mine I was aware of competing buyers from Germany - I dont think its just the exchange rate - theres a good few cars in the UK that have been well looked after, and the German enthusiasts know to look here.

As The Bear says...The Germans and Europeans are now looking for some classic cars that left their shores over the last 10yrs. Now that the tables have turned on the exchange rate, not a big change, but one that has got foreign buyers interested in looking to the UK ang getting their old LHD cars back!

The silly thing is, I travelled to Germany twice over a 3yr period to seek out just the right M3. (what is the right M3?) Despite seeing some really good cars, they had been modified as only Germans could and came home empty handed. A couple of weeks after my last trip, I found (for me) the one here in the UK.

...Is it now time to sell? Not to cash in, but to give another enthusiast a chance of driving and loving the orginal M3 experience.

Hi Guys thanks for all the really nice comments!!!

A few people have asked how did i come to own the cars? well like life its self we all need a bit of luck from time to time!! i was in a hospitality suite at the Silverstone GP last year and got talking to a chap there about cars i mentioned that i collect cars and he took an interest in the subject and went on to say that he had a couple of cars himself and went on to tell me that he bought 2 m3's for his son's when they were kids for future investments there now 21 and 22, that's why there are 2 red ones (save's the arguments i guess we all know what kids are like) and he also went on to say that he also owns a merc evo 2 and an RS200 and there all brand new and unregistered, you can imagine how i reacted my chin hit the floor lol!
So we swapped telephone numbers and he said if he ever wants to sell the he would give me first refusal i thought that's the last i would ever hear from him,then in January i got a phone call out of the blue from him to ask if i wanted to have a look at the cars and see if we could come to an agreement on price if i was interested so we made arrangements to view the cars and it turned out the guy is a very very wealthy business man so much so he's a billionaire, you would never know he's very down to earth!!! so we agreed a price and the rest is history!!! Well chuffed!!!!!
