tweeter removal from plastic housing??

can the tweeter be removed from the plastic housing? I am starting to upgrade the speakers and don't know how to remove the tweeter. Is the grill/mesh part of the tweeter or part of the plastic housing?
Anyone who has upgraded their stereo, please let me know how you went about the tweeter removal.

The metal grill will pop out. I used a small paperclip bent into a hook shape to pull it out.

The tweeter is hot-glued or something to the plastic housing. It can be pried out. Mine was stuck, but the glue was old and brittle, so I went around the tweeter with a small screwdriver, cracking it off piece by piece.

Actually, I think after that, there was still some glue on it and I just pried it out. I'd wear gloves or something though, cause I cut my hand on the tweeter magnet when it finally popped out. But it did pop out.

Sorry, I don't remember much more, I think I blocked out this experience.

An exacto knife or razor blade worked well for me. Just sawed right through the glue and popped it out.

dremel around the glue, or be VERY careful with a heat gun.
