what about machining yours out Dave ? Rubin in WA has exchange sets for sale but not original OEM.

I would be interested in getting mine done if you find a place. Simon

          Looks like 13 54 1 312 887 and 13 54 1 312 888 if the "E3" nomenclature on the following pages is what I think:

          page 1
          page 2

I'm going to call BM Auto Simon. They do the "upgrade" of the 46mm units so they should know of or be able to supply some 48mm butterflies to suit. I'm a machinist so I have that part covered. I'll let you know what I find from them
BTW...Rubin is only a part timer there now, sold the business a few years back I believe.

Ohhhh, you mean just the butterflies ! sorry thought you meant the lot.
If you are a machinist would you concider doing mine ? Always wanted them bored out to 48mm. assuming you can get the butterflies that is.
what about turning down some 6 cylinder ones, they may be the same just bigger !! just a thought, good luck.

Have you tried find euro 3,8l M5 50mm butterflies? Then you can make even 49mm throttle bodies.

I would consider all of the above but I can't find the actual butterflies anywhere.
I think they are the only part of the car that you can't buy separately.

                            Hi Aaron,
have you considered installing using some Webber butterflies, if they are the same thickness could be worth checking out.

Interesting Dave, thanks for the input.
I'm going to try and get a 48mm butterfly today and see if they will be easy enough to make.

Simon, if I'm successful with this venture I'll let you know and would happily help out.

                              Cheers
