    In fact, the wrench has clockwise and counterclockwise direction, but just the clockwise sense has the automatic release "click" signal.
    So, I can check the torque only on the RH thread.

      Of course all the inexpensive and arguably more accurate (but less sexy) beam style torque wrenches can torque in either direction.

      All my Snap-On torque wrenches will ratchet either way....so I assumed they would torque either way....but I have never tried it. Am I mistaken?

            This may be the first time ever on any forum I am on,,, maybe in my life,,, that I knew a slang term before other people LOL.

                  I think Jimmy's pojnt was that " no race team" ever torques them, rather than weekend warriors like this guy and myself! And certainly true that during a pitstop they didn't. BTW I do like that "extension" race taped on to the toque wrench! Here is some video evidence someone shot of my skinny ass doing the same,I do believe without the extension fitted, fast fwd to 0.39:

                    This wasn't a torque wrench.... Just a big socket with a pipe sized hole drilled on either end, pipe poked through the new holes and welded up. I think his "torque" was just a pre-determined amount of bounces!
