  • alpina guage (4 digital guages in 1)

These are the pics of the prototyp Alpina
guage replica. It replaces one of the vents
and can connect up to 4 sensors (e.g.
oil pressure, fuel pressure, oil temp, water temp,
diff temp, gear temp, etc). What you
    guys think?

    John

I almost gave up...why is it so hard to post
pics from S14net on S14net (for a non computer
          expert)?
using one of the "photopost=xxxx" links doesnt
          work for me.

          looks like it works now.

because you have to copy the .jpg extension

            "http://www.s14.net/photopost/data/500/280Alpina_3.jpg" like that

How much are the gauge? Also how bright will they light up? Enough to see them in direct sunlight?

there is no firm pricing yet. as shown it should include 2 temperature and 2 pressure guages.
the EGT version, 4 EGT sensors. but that is still a bit off.

at this point, would just like to know if people like the concept. and if there are
specific wishes, its time to tell me about them so that we might incorportate them
              (no guarantees though)

                  Wow John, great design.
this is exactly what I was looking for. !
But original Alpina“s are hard to find & very expensively.

-A small flat surface on top or below each display to label it would be nice.

Simply awesome. You'd sell a ton of those. I'm sure the final version would have labels.

Very, very nice. A few comments/questions.

If it visible in bright sunlight will it dim when the lights are switched on (just like the OBC)?

I would vote for a provision for labels.

If a warning light could be added beside each one that would make it perfect.

Are the pressure readings PSI or Bar or is there a choice?

Is it laided out with pressure readings on the top and temps at the bottom?

                        Cheers

                          AWESOME!
How much will the final version be? I like the idea with the warning lights. And labels of course. Otherwise stunning job, like it!

Goodbye M3, you served me well.

Dammit John - I was just about to order some Autometer gauges. But this looks good! I think the center vent is probably the best place for gauges but I don't like the existing solution (BMP - don't know of any others) on a street legal car. I've already yanked the A/C so loosing both center vents would be too much.

I assume that Martin is helping out with this??? If so, tie that gauge setup into Maxx and you've got a killer solution! How about some warning lights and/or alarm?

I'd be very interested in something like this. Of course price and availability will be factors. (C'mon John I've already sent you over $2k!)

                            Keep us posted. Soon!

That means I like it and want one.
