What are front strut housings worth?

A friend and I were gonna purchase a spare set of housings for our cars a while back. I think we found some in the $350-$400 range. It might also make a difference if they have bearings on them or not. If no bearings then you might be able to get them a little less. You can buy the 5 series bearings from Turner for a replacement set at a cheaper price than the M3 ones from the dealer. If they do have bearings, you might be able to sell the ABS rings off of them since you will not be able to use them on a standard e30 (to the best of my knowledge). The rings are not available seperate anywhere and to buy them with bearings from BMW is like $400. Just a thought.
